Description
I Am An Asset
The I am an asset project is designed for young students from immigrant backgrounds enrolled in reception classes in primary and secondary schools in the Côte-des-Neiges district.
Through structured training in translation and interpreting, the project will enable them to acquire concrete skills in linguistic and cultural mediation. It will enable young people to take an active role in their school community, while improving communication between schools and allophone families.
It will also enable the school to have a small bank of trained interpreters who can intervene as needed in simple situations (general meeting with allophone parents, emergency at school with a student, etc.).
