French courses are offered at SIARI in partnership with the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration, through the Program for lingusitic integration of immigrants (Programme d’intégration linguistique pour les immigrants du Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).
We offer courses for different learning levels. We have beginners, intermediate and advanced levels offered throughout the year as well as part time courses offered for the duration of 11 weeks. Students can choose between 4 or 12 hours per week. Students with a valid social insurance number can receive financial assistance and childcare allowance.
The certificate delivered at the end of the course is valid for the citizenship application.

In order to register you must be sixteen years and older, and your status must correspond to one of these situations:
- Be a permanent resident
- Be a refugee or an accepted refugee
- Be an asylum seeker
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be a temporary worker or an international student with an acceptance certificate from Quebec ( certificate acceptation du Québec-CAQ)
- Be the spouse of a temporary worker or an international student with an acceptance certificate from Quebec-CAQ
